Solar Energy
Solar Energy is one of the most promising sources of energy which can help to keep our planet in order. However, people need to be aware that the amount of solar energy which can be used varies from different areas.
Solar Energy is the main source of generating power for the Earth’s life support systems. Solar Energy is derived from two basic sources. One is the use of solar heating and the other is from photovoltaic cells which convert sunlight into energy.
Solar heating refers to the process of using the sun’s energy to warm objects such as water or snow by the use of heat exchangers. This heat is then transferred to external equipment for usage. Solar heating can also be a very useful source of energy to heat water which is used for many applications in the home.
The second form of solar energy is solar electricity, which refers to the use of power from the sun. This form of energy is more readily available at night than during the day. During the day, solar energy cannot be used because the sun has to be utilized at night.
The use of Photovoltaic Cells is the most common form of solar energy. Photovoltaic Cells are used to generate power which can be used to power several electrical devices which are connected to the electricity grid. The amount of power that is generated is dependent on the number of PV cells.
Solar Electricity or solar thermal is an alternate form of solar energy, which is used to create a small amount of electricity during the day. At night, the electricity generated during the day is converted to DC current which can be transferred into another set of batteries or used directly to warm or cool a home.
The one drawback to using solar power for your home is the expense which may occur. Solar energy can only be produced from free-standing structures and these tend to be expensive. The installation of PV cells can cost thousands of dollars but in the long run, it will be much cheaper.
Solar Energy is a great way to preserve our planet, and if we are going to conserve our environment we need to learn how to harness it and use it for the benefit of mankind. Solar Energy is free, clean, safe, and extremely renewable.
