Vikram Solar plans 3-GW PV factory in Tamil Nadu
July 21 (Renewables Now) – Indian solar energy solutions provider Vikram Solar Ltd plans to build a factory in the state of Tamil Nadu with the annual capacity to produce 3 GW of wafer, cells and modules.
The company has entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the state government to set up the facility in Kancheepuram.
The project will be realised over a period of five years and will involve an investment by Vikram of about INR 54.23 billion (USD 727.4m/EUR 632.9m). As per employment, it is expected to create 7,542 jobs.
