&lt;p&gt;&lt;a href=”https://protect-eu.mimecast.com/s/gOHhCo2B7c67lPXU17uUx” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”&gt;National Grid Renewables&lt;/a&gt;, which includes the renewables development company formerly known as Geronimo Energy, announced today the start of construction on the 200-MW Prairie Wolf Solar Project in Coles County, Illinois. The project is poised to generate tax revenue, landowner income and charitable initiatives, all while adding more clean energy to the electric grid.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;As previously announced in 2020, Prairie Wolf has an executed Virtual Power Purchase Agreement (VPPA) with Cargill, marking the second renewable energy VPPA contracted between Cargill and National Grid Renewables, the first being for a portion of the Crocker Wind Farm in Clark County, South Dakota.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;EPC provider Swinerton Renewable Energy is building the project, which MISO estimates will be operational by the end of 2021.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;“I think the Prairie Wolf Solar Project is a win-win for everybody,” said Wes Humphres, a landowner in the Prairie Wolf project area. “It’s going to be a huge benefit to the schools and other taxing bodies in the project area, and it will create and support jobs in the local community.”&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;“The groundbreaking of the Prairie Wolf Solar Project is an exciting step forward in Cargill’s work to support renewable energy as a way to change the way we power our operations, harnessing the innovative, economic and environmental benefits of renewable power,” stated Eric Hoegger, Director, Global Renewable Energy for Cargill.&amp;nbsp;“We are honored to continue partnering with National Grid Renewables as we work to fulfill our commitment to reduce CO2&amp;nbsp;emissions by&amp;nbsp;10% by&amp;nbsp;2025, measured&amp;nbsp;against a 2017 baseline.”&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;“The renewable energy sector is positioned for unprecedented growth in the coming years,” said George Hershman, President of Swinerton Renewable Energy. “The development of large-scale, impactful projects like Prairie Wolf in newer solar markets like Illinois will be vital in helping our industry reach its ambitious goals and expand access to clean energy for more Americans. We applaud National Grid Renewables for their leadership in the Midwest.”&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Using the United States’ Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) greenhouse gas equivalencies calculator, the project is estimated to offset carbon dioxide emissions by 285,000 metric tons annually. Prairie Wolf will also benefit local and statewide economies through the production of new tax revenue, the creation of new jobs, increased local spending during construction and a local charitable fund estimated to contribute $800,000 over the first 20 years of project operation.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Renewable energy developer&amp;nbsp;&lt;a href=”https://protect-eu.mimecast.com/s/mBvaCgJq6h4rX9vf2Ixh7/”&gt;RP Global&lt;/a&gt; announced that it is investing in the development of PV and wind power projects across Poland. Wojciech Glocko, former EPA Wind and utility manager, has been hired to head up project development together with a team of senior local experts from Poland’s leading public and private renewable energy organizations.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;The first projects to be commissioned from this pipeline by mid-2022 include five PV parks of approximately 180 MW each, located in different regions of Poland.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Wojciech Glocko, RP Global’s new managing director for development in Poland, said that the renewable market in Poland is growing quickly. “RP Global as a well-established player in the market will play an important role in Poland’s decarbonization,” he added.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;RP Global has developed and built five wind farms in the country. The company owns and operates a 104-MW wind farm as part of a 50:50 joint venture with the Marguerite Fund, and it is well positioned to reinvest in wind development activities as well as in Poland’s newly booming PV market.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Despite lower radiation levels than in the South of Europe, the falling cost of solar panels as well as and the growing capacities in the country’s auctions makes solar PV increasingly attractive, said the company.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;“The opening up of the Polish government for low cost, environmentally friendly technologies, providing highly competitive LCOE, makes for an attractive market, even if Poland may not be the first country that comes to mind when thinking of attractive solar radiation”, explained RP Global’s CEO Gerhard Matzinger.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Last week, US residential solar and storage installer Sunnova announced it has secured a position of 85 megawatts in the recent ISO-New England Forward Capacity Auction (FCA15). Sunnova’s aggregated residential solar portfolio will offer competitive renewable energy capacity to help meet the region’s future energy needs. The company expects the complete portfolio to begin participating with the FCA15 commitment year beginning June 2024.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Overall, Sunnova’s commitment priced at nearly $3/kW-mo across the region. The company expects the first-year value to be approximately $2 million and the gross value across the term to be approximately $38 million. The final pricing for FCA15 increased from prior years with systems in the surrounding Boston area (Northeast Massachusetts and Boston, Southeast Massachusetts, and Rhode Island) securing $3.98/kW-mo, Connecticut and Western Massachusetts clearing $2.61/kW-mo, and New Hampshire pricing at $2.48/kW-mo.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;“Our ability to win capacity in a competitively priced auction with the largest aggregation of distributed renewables to date demonstrates our commitment to leading the energy transition in the region,” said William J. (John) Berger, Chief Executive Officer of Sunnova. “More importantly, Sunnova is looking forward to supporting ISO-NE on its path to a clean resilient grid and providing homeowners with the affordable and reliable energy they deserve.”&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;“Sunnova’s continued high growth in New England, and our strong dealer relationships allowed us to bid tens of thousands of new rooftop solar services into the auction,” said Michael Grasso, EVP and Chief Marketing Officer of Sunnova. “The participation of Sunnova’s portfolio secures the long-term involvement of our assets in the New England capacity program.”&lt;/p&gt;
