Skyline Renewables buys 250-MW solar project in Texas
October 29 (Renewables Now) – US-based renewable energy platform Skyline Renewables has acquired the 250-MW Galloway I solar project located in Central West Texas from 8minute Solar Energy.
Skyline said it has secured a tax equity investment for the project from Morgan Stanley Renewables Inc and construction financing from a lending consortium led by CIT Group Inc (NYSE:CIT), with Rabobank, Commerzbank AG (ETR:CBK), DNB Capital and Siemens Financial participating.
Financial details were not disclosed.
The Galloway I solar farm is scheduled to start operation by the end of 2021. Morgan Stanley Capital Group Inc and an unnamed “major energy marketer” will purchase electricity generated by the plant.
Since it was founded in 2018, Skyline acquired several wind power developments across the US, making Galloway I its first solar project. With the latest addition, the company’s renewable energy portfolio sits at just over 1,050 MW.
Skyline Renewables is backed by French private equity investor Ardian.
