SINN Power seeks PV tech for hybrid platform in Greek waters
May 1 (Renewables Now) – Marine energy technology firm SINN Power GmbH is looking for solar photovoltaic (PV) makers to join it in a floating renewable energy platform demonstration in Greece.
The company said it will give PV manufacturers the chance to showcase their modules on its ocean hybrid platform in Iraklio this summer.
SINN Power’s modular system allows the generation of electricity from wave, wind and solar energy. Tests have shown that it can withstand waves up to six metres high.
“SINN Power is the first to offer a customizable energy solution using waves, small wind and PV according to climatic conditions of any location and at competitive prices compared to other proven technologies,” said CEO Philipp Sinn. He added that one option is to use the floating platform for power island resorts in the Caribbean.
