September 28 (Renewables Now) – The Clean Energy Infrastructure (CEI) business of asset manager Capital Dynamics has agreed to buy a 316-MW solar portfolio in the US from LS Power, it was announced today.

Under the terms of the deal, CEI will acquire interests in three solar photovoltaic (PV) plants located in California, Arizona and Delaware, each of which will come with a long-term power purchase agreement (PPA).

More details about the assets are available in the table below.

Name Capacity (Net ownership) Location Interest to be acquired by CEI
Centinela Solar Energy 252 MW Imperial County, CA 100%
Arlington Valley Solar Energy II 175 MW (53 MW) Maricopa County, AZ 30%
Dover Sun Park 11 MW Dover, DE 100%

“These high-quality, contracted projects will be an important addition to our 4.6 GW solar portfolio and our 2.9 GWh energy storage portfolio, compounding our ability to achieve benefits of scale, leverage our deep operational experience, and unlock opportunities to add value to this critical energy infrastructure,” said Tim Short, managing director of Clean Energy Infrastructure at Capital Dynamics in New York.

The transaction is seen to be wrapped up in the fourth quarter of 2020, subject to receiving the necessary regulatory nods. King & Spalding LLP and Amis, Patel & Brewer LLP acted as legal counsel for Capital Dynamics.
