Eco Energy World to develop 500 MW of subsidy-free solar in Sweden
November 12 (Renewables Now) – UK-based solar project developer Eco Energy World (EEW) on Wednesday announced the establishment of a new business in Sweden, where the company plans to develop 500 MW of subsidy-free schemes over the coming three years.
The company has appointed Travis Woodward to lead its new Scandinavian business. Once the planned Swedish portfolio is complete, it will produce electricity for nearly 50,000 local homes.
“EEW is delighted to enter into the Swedish subsidy free market and as part of this strategy we aim to drive down the future development and construction costs for clean solar energy,” chairman Svante Kumlin commented.
EEW says it has installed some 1,300 MW of utility-scale solar plants in Europe and Australia over the last 10 years.
